Pluto Close, by Leicester-born and London-based designer, Hannah Wallace is named after a close on a social housing estate in Highfields, Leicester. Pluto Close is one of many flats named after planets and was once an area where riots raged.
Integral to the brand's aesthetic is a juxtaposition of British subcultural dress and inner-city dress codes, which reflect a visionary biosphere against an environment which once battled against discrimination and disadvantage in the 1980's.
Graduating from Manchester School of Art in 2015, her graduate collection featured metallic sportswear in dynamic shapes, demonstrating exceptional creativity, design, cut craftsmanship and catwalk impact. The collection has been worn by Rihanna and Ella Mai amongst others and was also featured in Nick Knights fashion film UP which opened the 2016 British Fashion Awards. Experience includes Vivienne Westwood and Aitor Throup. she will be presenting her AW19 collection as part of the British Fashion Council's designer showrooms at London Fashion Week in February 2019.
