Holly Fulton is a Creative Director and Designer living and working in East London.
Born in Scotland, Holly studied in Edinburgh before going on to the prestigious Masters at the Royal College of Art. She established her eponymous label in 2009 after gaining industry experience in London and Paris and has been awarded numerous accolades during this time including a British Fashion Award, ELLE New Designer, several Scottish Fashion Awards and most recently Innovator of the Year 2016.
The Holly Fulton label epitomises modern relaxed luxury. Attention to detail, complex graphic embellishment and witty twists are what makes Holly's work instantly recognisable. Hand rendered, digitally manipulated print coupled with unusual fabrications create strong unified looks, from top to toe. Designed for a confident woman, with a focus on contemporary silhouette and distinctive use of colour, the label has built a strong global following which continues to grow, having sold widely across Europe, Asia and the US.
Since her debut collection Holly has developed her own unique visual language, drawing upon a dizzying array of sources, from art deco lines and Bauhaus shapes, to pop art painting and psychedelic illustration. Rich multilayered surfaces reflect a genuine love of both art history and popular culture. The research of a collection is of paramount importance to Holly, with her own extensive private collections forming a rich source of inspiration. The foundation in hand drawn graphics gives the brand its unique signature and distinguishes it from its peers.
Jewellery and accessories complete Fultons ‘total look', with jewellery often cleverly worked into the clothing itself and a suite of designs created each season to correspond with the materials and fabrications at play within the clothing. Signature shapes such as the perpsex plaque necklaces and 'treasure chest' bag have become iconic for the label, reimagined each season in a variety of hues and fabrications.
The Holly Fulton label has been awarded support from several prestigious UK bodies; Fashion East, Newgen for five consecutive seasons, Fashion Forward and the Fashion Trust alongside nomintaions for the Vogue Fashion Fund.
As a designer, Fultlon has a strong history in collaboration, undertaking numerous projects spanning multiple categories over the last 15 years, including, within the fashion sector, Christian Louboutin, Cutler and Gross and John Smedley; within the luxury sector, Smythson, Swarovski and Fortnum and Mason, and within the beauty sector Elizabeth Arden and This Works. Demonstarting the diversity of both Fulton as a designer and the versatility of the labels signature, working with industry partners and experts both informs and expands the design process and is a key part of the designers ethos.
